follow site Our Executive Director, Dr. Lawalley Cole was pleased to participate in the Ethiopian Media Sector Alliance breakfast meeting this morning with participants from UNESCO, UNDP, the Ethiopian Media Authority, the Consortium of Ethiopian Human Rights Organizations, the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Media Support (IMS) and several other stakeholders in the media fraternity in Ethiopia. The meeting was remarkable, with frank discussions on media freedom and the need to collaborate and support capacity that would impact the media in Ethiopia and Africa. This discussion will continue with a plan to institutionalize long-term training for African journalists. CAFOR will work with partners and play a key role in building the capacity of journalists and communication professionals in Africa.
