Professor Kate Adoo-Adeku – Current Chairperson of CAFOR

Professor Kate Adoo-Adeku is a former Director of the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, University of Ghana. She is a professional adult educator with over three decades of experience. She is the founder and Executive Director of People and Development( PAD ) Associates, an NGO that deals with the development issues of people She was the former Vice-President and Technical Advisor to SWAA-Ghana, a chapter of a Pan African NGO, Society of Women and Aids in Africa that focuses on the welfare of women and children. . Kate is a trainer and has participated in several training activities in Ghana and Africa. She has also carried out some consultancy projects for some International agencies, including the ADEA/ COMED, UNESCO, UNDP, and WORLD VISION and ERNWACA. She has written some books and published several articles on Gender and Literacy. She was the Chief-Editor of Ghana Journal of Literacy and Adult Education from 2005-2008. She co-edited a Pan-African book titled Literacy for Development in Africa: Some Issues and Concerns. She has also Co-edited a training tool kit for African Journalists titled Communication for Education and Development by ADEA/COMED. She has also published and edited books, including Gender Education and Development: Issues and Concerns for Action. in 2012. Essays on Gender and Development 2014 and Exploring Ghana’s Natural Cultural Assets for Poverty Reduction in 2016 Currently engage in Ghana 2017 National Health Project on Immunization.
