Previously she served as the Director General of Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) in Banjul. GTTI was, for a long time, the premier institution for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in The Gambia. She joined ATUPA with vast experience in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). As an active member of the Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa (CAPA) Board, Mme Faal has made outstanding contributions in CAPA activities. In this regard, she earned the appointment as the first woman Secretary General of CAPA. She has since spearheaded the successful transformation of the CAPA to the Association of Technical University and Polytechnics in Africa (ATUPA). She has entrenched women in Technical Education and Development to empower women in Africa to take leadership positions and play strategic roles in TVET.
