CAFOR MEETING

The Executive Director of CAFOR, Dr Lawalley Coke and one of the founders that facilitated the creation of CAFOR in Nairobi in 2017, Mr Francis Michuki met with former Ethiopian Prime Minister H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn and currently President of AGRA – the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa.
Over lunch last Thursday September,12 2024, we had very meaningful discussions on collaborative work with CAFOR to support African youth involvement in agriculture transformation in Africa. AGRA is focused on putting smallholder farmers at the centre of the continent’s growing economy by transforming agriculture from a solitary struggle to survive into farming as a business that thrives. As the sector that employs the majority of Africa’s people, nearly all of them small-scale farmers , AGRA recognizes that developing smallholder agriculture into a productive, efficient, and sustainable system is essential to ensuring food security, lifting millions out of poverty, and driving equitable growth across the continent
