With reference to our earlier announcement, the 3rdAfrican Youth SDGs Summit which was scheduled to be held during 10-12 June 2020 is now rescheduled to be held during 1-3 July,2020 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana.
The 3rd African Youth SDGs Summit will coincide with the 5-year journey milestone of the SDGs adoption– and will present a critical point of reflection towards unleashing the full potential of the youth to deliver the SDGs in the next decade. Prior to and as a contribution to the 2020 High Level Political Forum (HLPF), the 3rd African Youth SDGs Summit will convene about 1,500 young leaders, SDG advocates, students, government officials, development practitioners and world leaders for 3-days of constructive dialogues, debates, awards, networking and exchange of knowledge towards attaining the SDG target by 2030.
In a related development, Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG), the organizers of the Summit have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Millennium Promise Alliance (MPA) to cooperate on different SDG related projects including convening the Summit.
MPA is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the USA, and in Ghana as an International NGO with the mission to advance sustainable development in communities using innovative solutions and scalable systems. MPA mobilizes cutting-edge science and technology for effective local development.
Globally, MPA operates in over twenty (20) countries including Nigeria,Mali,Guinea Senegal, Uganda and Mozambique.MPA believes in working with Country systems and government agencies to empower the rural poor, promote rapid socio-economic development and accelerate the attainment of the SDGs. MPA’s approach to development programmes is the adoption of an integrated participatory model that involves government systems and community members in program planning and implementation processes.
Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG), 2030 Youth Alliance and partners are committed to pushing further youth involvement in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) achievement by working to develop ever more inclusive, progressive, thought provoking and critically engaging programmes, and through engaging duty bearers and young people to demonstrate beyond commitment to actions.
